When you say “call” it means that you are betting the same amount as the player to your right. For example if the player to your left raises a bet you would call, or put $10 in the pot.

Pocket kings and queens are very strong hands but an ace on the flop will spell doom for your hand if you don’t have a flush or straight. The flop is a crucial part of the game and it is very difficult to conceal your hand strength. When you have a strong hand bet hard and force weaker hands to fold. The better your bluffing skills are the more money you can make.
