Slot

A slot is a hollow in the human throat, just above the breastbone. Its origins are uncertain. It is a corruption of the Old French esclot, which was a synonym of the word “slot” in other languages. The word “slot” is first recorded in the 1520s, and its modern meaning of a slot machine dates back to 1888. It is an excellent form of entertainment, and is an increasingly popular game for online casinos.

The word slot comes from Middle Dutch and Middle Low German. It is also a variant of Old Norse slot, Old High German sloz, and Old Saxon slutil. It comes from the Proto-Germanic root *slut “to close”, and is related to the PIE root *klau “hook.”

In hockey, the slot is the area between the faceoff circles, where a player has a good chance to score without deflection. Because of the low slot, defenders will lay big hits on small wingers in this area. A well-placed one-timer from the slot is one of the most spectacular shots in the sport. In field hockey, however, defenders will usually slap the puck into the net when a winger or center makes a misplay.

To use this feature, we must map each slot to a type. The entity value of a slot can have multiple synonyms. For example, a person can say “New York” and the dialog engine will map that statement to New York. When you type “New York” into the slot field, the bot understands that you mean New York. The same is true for “Big Apple” or “NYC.” You can add more synonyms by clicking the field and pressing enter. You can also remove synonyms by hovering over them and clicking the X.
