A player’s minimum bet per round is known as the “buy-in” in a game. If a player is not able to afford to make this minimum bet, they can check the pot during the betting round and raise their stake. If a player raises his stake again, he must call it. Unlike in other games, players can check their pot in a cash game, where they play with real money instead of poker chips.

The next type of bet is called an “overplay.” An overcard can be a card that is higher than any other card on the board. For example, a 10-9 on a flop of 6-4-2 would be an overcard. If the flop contains three different suits, it means that there is no chance of a flush. Overplay is the opposite of a rock. It involves betting more money than you would be willing to win.
