The term “raise” means to increase your bet, while “call” means to call a bet.

When a hand begins, players place an ante in the pot. Players then see their cards. Players can discard up to three cards before taking another two cards from the deck. Once the cards are revealed, players can either raise or fold their hand. The player who has not made a bet is called the small blind. The dealer then deals the first three community cards face-up. The small blind is the player to the left of the big blind and acts first every round.
